When considering dental implants, patients often want to know exactly what they’re getting, particularly with innovative procedures like All-on-4 implants.
If you're missing multiple teeth or dealing with the challenges of dentures, All-on-4 implants may be the solution you need for a permanent, natural-looking smile.
But how many teeth do you get with All-on-4 implants?
Let's break it down and explore how this groundbreaking technique works and what you can expect.
What Are All-on-4 Implants?
All-on-4 implants are a popular and effective solution for people with extensive tooth loss or severe damage to their teeth. This advanced procedure uses four strategically placed dental implants to support a full set of replacement teeth.
All-on-4 implants are anchored directly into the jawbone, offering a more secure and permanent solution. The implants act as a stable foundation for a full set of prosthetic teeth, restoring both function and appearance.
But How Many Teeth Do You Get with All-on-4 Implants?
With All-on-4 implants, you’re typically getting a full set of teeth for both the upper and lower arches. This means you can expect between 10 to 14 teeth per arch, depending on the size of your mouth and the specific needs of your case.
The idea behind All-on-4 implants is that four implants can support an entire arch of prosthetic teeth. These implants are placed strategically in the jaw to maximize stability. Each implant holds a bridge of artificial teeth, replacing a full row of missing teeth.
Factors Affecting the Number of Teeth You Get with All-on-4
While most patients will receive a full set of teeth, there are some factors that can affect the final number of teeth in the All-on-4 implant procedure:
Jawbone Structure
The health and density of your jawbone play a crucial role. Patients with a strong jawbone may support a full set of 12-14 teeth per arch, while those with bone loss might require adjustments.
Prosthetic Design
The type of prosthetic used (full arch, hybrid denture, or dental bridge) may influence the number of teeth included, as some designs require fewer teeth for proper functionality and aesthetics.
Arch Size
The size and shape of your mouth and arches determine how many teeth are necessary for a natural and balanced appearance.
Bite Alignment
Proper occlusion (how your teeth come together) is essential. Adjustments to the number or placement of teeth may be needed to ensure a balanced and comfortable bite.
Understanding the All-on-4 Procedure
The All-on-4 procedure is a streamlined approach to restoring an entire set of teeth.
Here's a step-by-step look at what happens during the procedure:
Consultation and Evaluation
The first step is a consultation with your cosmetic dentist to assess your oral health and determine if All-on-4 implants are right for you. This may include X-rays and 3D imaging to map out the best placement for the implants.
Implant Placement
After administering local anesthesia or sedation, your dentist will place the four dental implants into the jawbone. These implants are typically placed at a specific angle, allowing them to securely hold a full set of teeth even if there’s limited bone structure.
Temporary Teeth
Once your implants are placed, a temporary set of teeth will be attached, allowing you to leave the office with a functional smile while the implants heal.
Healing Period
The implants will integrate with your jawbone over several months during a process known as osseointegration. This ensures the implants are securely anchored.
Permanent Restoration
Once healing is complete, your dentist will replace the temporary teeth with a permanent bridge or prosthetic. This final set of teeth will be custom-made to fit your mouth perfectly and match the appearance of your natural teeth.
The Advantages of All-on-4 Implants
The All-on-4 implant procedure offers several benefits that make it a preferred choice for many patients:
Fewer Implants, Full Smile: Traditional implant methods often require multiple implants for each missing tooth. With All-on-4, you only need four implants to support an entire arch of teeth, making it a cost-effective and less invasive option.
Stability and Comfort: All-on-4 implants are anchored securely into the jawbone, providing a stable foundation for your new teeth. Unlike traditional dentures, you don’t have to worry about your teeth slipping or shifting.
Faster Recovery: Since the All-on-4 procedure typically involves fewer implants, the recovery time can be shorter compared to other dental implant methods. Additionally, many patients can leave the office the same day with a full set of temporary teeth.
Improved Aesthetics and Function: The permanent prosthetics placed on your All-on-4 implants are designed to look and feel just like natural teeth. They can restore your ability to chew, speak, and smile with confidence.
Is All-on-4 Right for You?
All-on-4 implants are an excellent option for many patients who have lost most or all of their teeth. However, it’s important to understand that this procedure is not suitable for everyone.
Factors like the health of your gums, the amount of bone in your jaw, and your overall dental health will play a role in determining whether All-on-4 implants are the best solution for you.
If you’ve been considering All-on-4 implants, it’s essential to consult with a skilled cosmetic dentist who can guide you through the process and determine if this procedure will help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted.

I have to start off by saying that Dr. Hayslip’s assistants are the most comical and friendly people I have ever met. I don’t think a second went by that I wasn’t laughing at something one of them said. Dr. Hayslip was just as funny and I could thank him a million for the great job he did on my teeth but that would still not be enough. I could say that I never in my life looked forward to going to the dentist until now, I’ve come to know every single person in the office and I’ll probably drop by just to hang out. For the first time ever I actually smiled in my school picture.
Thank you.. thank you.. thank you..

Dr. Hayslip and Staff,
Happier more confident and younger looking are just a few of the feeling I am experiencing since Dr. Hayslip gave me my new gorgeous smile. He and his staff are not only professional and caring but they are compassionate as well. The whole experience was so pleasant and Dr. Hayslip takes great pride in his work and it shows. I couldn’t believe how beautiful the temporaries looked and the permanent are unbelievable.
There is so much truth in the phrase “When you smile, the whole world smiles with you”!
Thank you for changing my life.

Due to my “bite” being off, my bottom front teeth were worn down and were very jiggered. I talked with my regular dentist, whom I had been seeing for many years, about what could be done to fix my bottom teeth. He didn’t seem to be too concerned. I assumed that his only solution was at some point in time he would fit me with a partial plate, or even worse- dentures. I was very disappointed.
Then, someone told me about the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta, Georgia. I made an appointment to get an evaluation as to what could be done to save my bottom teeth. The representative told me that my bite was way off and in order to fix my bottom teeth, it would require extensive work throughout my whole mouth.
After I returned home, I noticed a sign in front of a dental office on Russell Parkway, MIDDLE GEORGIA CENTER FOR COSMETIC DENTISTRY. I made an appointment and visited this dentist to get his opinion on what could be done to save my bottom teeth. When Dr. Curtis
Hayslip looked at my teeth and my mouth, he gave me his recommendation, it was the same as the evaluation that I had received at the Dental School in Augusta.
I agreed for Dr. Hayslip to do whatever he deemed necessary to save my teeth. The total process involved grinding down all of my teeth and replacing them with crowns-28 crowns in all. Fitting the new crowns not only corrected my bite, it also enhanced my looks. The results were greater than my expectations. My new teeth looked perfect.
It has been over five years since I had all my teeth crowned and I have never regretted having it done. My new teeth not only helped my looks, but it also helped my self-esteem - I'm not embarrassed to smile now.
Thank you Dr. Hayslip for saving my teeth and improving my life.

Dear Dr. Hayslip,
I never realized how drastic the changes would be when I made the decision to have my Dura-thins applied to my teeth. Dr. Hayslip and I discussed the procedure and the outcome. However, I was so pleasantly surprised at how they looked. I used to dread smiling and hated seeing pictures of my teeth. Now, I receive so many compliments; I love to show my new smile! My only regret is that I did not do it sooner. I highly recommend Dr. Hayslip and his staff. They are a great team of professionals who get the job done and done well.
